This is a quick one. Use an all purpose cleaner to clean the outside and inside of all your trash and garbage containers. Put a few drops of an essential oil into the containers when you're done.

When was the last time you dusted your books? This is a good Saturday afternoon project. Be sure to get the tops and the shelf behind the books!
If you have a bathroom that you don't use very much, like in the basement, here's a tip: be sure to flush the toilet at least once a week. Otherwise a ring will form that will eventually degrade the bowl.
When I do a deep cleaning of home that someone is moving out of, there's always the irony that I'm getting their place the best looking it's ever been just when they won't be there to enjoy it anymore! Here is the first in a series of ideas to get your place looking spic and span while you're still there.
Idea #1: Clean the basement. Get those cobwebs in the ceiling beams, dust the utility shelves and the washer and dryer, wash the floor. Just saw the Rube Goldberg Crazy Contraption Exhibit at the Children's Museum. It is wonderful. One of his machines is a machine to clean the house.
