Swiffer floor mops are pointless things. What were they thinkin? I suppose they are good for dustmopping--but who needs to dustmop their house! Or spills in the kitchen if you don't want to bend down to clean it up--but you do have to put the pad on the mop and that's a hassle. I don't know. Maybe some people find them useful but personally I don't get it.
I have recently discovered Swiffer for dusting and I recommend it. They have a version with an extendable handle that also bends at the top to get hard to reach areas. It’s very lightweight so you can move it quickly (“Swiffly” I suppose). The dust collecting part is very effective. The only drawback is that it’s disposable, though you can vacuum it once or twice when it gets dirty before needing to replace it.
It was designed by somebody who knows cleaning.
